my philosophy

While I was first introduced to yoga through physical movement, I eventually discovered that the most meaningful movements were the ones happening within.

One of the foundational teachings of yoga that resonates most deeply with me is Chitta Vritti Nirodha—the practice of learning to calm the fluctuations of the mind.

We are often led to believe that fulfillment lies somewhere ahead of us—in doing more, owning more, or molding ourselves into an ideal that was never truly ours. Along the way, we subconsciously give our power away to external validation, expectations, and circumstances.

Through the practice of calming these fluctuations, we can observe our thoughts without being governed by them. We create space for healing, understanding, and a deeper connection to ourselves. As trust in our inner guidance grows, we become more willing to surrender what is beyond our control.

Often, what we avoid most is quietly asking to be seen, and the most courageous thing we can do is simply listen. With that, I believe, comes a beautiful sense of freedom.

This is the heart of Movements with Soph.

I am not here to teach you who to be. I am here to hold space through movement, and through stillness, as you reconnect with who you are beneath the noise of the world.
